Advertising is something that you shouldn’t take lightly. If you have a product that you would like to promote, then it’s easy to get started right away. But if you don’t have a list to mail your offers to, then your direct mail campaign is doomed from the start. And don’t think that you can easily pick out names from the phonebook. This is a very poor way to start implementing these products and services in your spare time.
To really make your direct mail (and any type of advertising) work, you need an offer that corresponds perfectly to the people that you’re selling to. One big mistake regarding direct mail is this. If you lived in snowy Minneapolis, and you were selling snow tires – the last thing that you would want to do is to mail your sales letters out to someone in hot Phoenix, Arizona. hotmail messagerie
In Phoenix, a lot of hotels and even apartments don’t even offer central heat or heat that comes from ventilators. This is how hot it can get in Phoenix. I remember my cousin telling me that as soon as he landed in Phoenix and took a walk outside, his chap stick was all watery and he had to throw it away.
The temperature gage that he has in his SUV easily said 102 degrees outside, and if you took a look at the streets of Phoenix, you will see that it’s incredibly empty. My guess for that is because it’s so hot outside, that people would rather stay inside in front of their nice cold air.
But back to the point at hand, you never want to send an offer out to the wrong people. Don’t rely on a list broker to get you leads – use something called the SRDS to find a mailing list for you. The more expensive you get with your niche, the more money you will stand to make – but more often than not it is well worth it.
If you don’t want to do direct mail, there are still other ways to promote your business. One of them are display ads in your local newspaper. Make sure you have an attention getting headline, and run that ad in different sections of the newspaper. Believe it not, you will get response from both ads in the paper.
If you’re thinking about abandoning ship on your marketing efforts, then don’t. It will take some time (maybe a year) for your free marketing efforts to pay off in the long run. The more you can stay dedicated to your business, the more you’ll be able to pad your pockets huge sums of money.
This isn’t a “fast money plan”. All I’m suggesting is that you find a marketing technique that brings in response fast, and keep running technique over and over again. If you can do this, then you’ll stand a chance of having a lot of revenue in your business.
